The person who lifted $2 million in jewelry from Paris Hilton last month was somebody close to the actress, LAPD investigators believe.

Police say the robber was familiar with the layout of Hilton’s house and knew how to access her collection of rings, watches and necklaces, the L.A. Times reports.

Hilton’s bedroom was ransacked during the Dec. 19 burglary, but, police told the paper, security video showed a thief who knew the home and was able to quickly track down Hilton’s jewelry collection, including some heirlooms from Paris’ grandmother.

The thief wore gloves and covered his face with a hooded sweat shirt, according to the Times.

“I think whoever did this, definitely has been [in my home] before. We have some suspects that I’m thinking of,” Hilton recently E! News.

“I would tell them to please return my things, because I know that they’re probably watching. . . . The just have to anonymously have a taxi drop it off in my front gate in a box,” she said. “They won’t get in trouble, but if all this goes on for much longer, they’re going to get in more trouble.”

paris-hilton310-273x300 picture Paris Hilton Devastated Over RobberySometimes, even Paris Hilton has a bad day—and for an heiress like Paris, it’s when $2 million worth of jewelry gets stolen.

After an intruder broke into Hilton’s Sherman Oak’s estate Dec. 19, it was reported that many of the socialite’s most precious baubles were stolen.

A distraught Paris told Life & Style, “I am devastated. I cannot believe someone broke into my home. They took items that had such sentimental value that no one will ever be able to replace.”

“I’m just thankful that I wasn’t there when it happened.”

Paris, who was out partying during the robbery, apparently lost millions worth of “diamonds, necklaces, rings, watches and family heirlooms from her grandmothers,” a source told the mag.

Even though Hilton has surveillance cameras, the thief has not been caught and a paranoid Paris isn’t taking any chances.

The source says, “…detectives are doing a huge investigation,” and the reality star “has upped her security team to three 24-hour bodyguards, and … has someone on her property at all times.”

The L.A. coroner has determined that the Beverly Hills hairdresser did not shoot himself in the head, the AP reports.

The ruling is just the latest twist in the headline-grabbing case.

It comes as a surprise after an attorney for Shaha Mishaal Adham, an initial suspect, came forward and told the Beverly Hills Police Department that she saw Ruffalo shoot himself during a game of Russian Roulette.

Adham, 26, has since been released from police custody and has not been charged.

Ruffalo was shot Dec. 1 and died a week later.
